Salt Pump Grand Opening Celebration September 19

SALT PUMP GRAND OPENING CELEBRATION AND BOUNTY HUNT COMPETITION SET FOR SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 19

All Are Welcome for Climbing, Prizes, Food and Refreshments 

Our Grand Opening Celebration is coming up on Saturday September 19. We’ll be open all day long for climbing and activities, followed by demonstrations, prizes, refreshments and music. The day will include a sign planting ceremony in lieu of a more traditional ribbon cutting ceremony.

Families are encouraged to try out climbing and participate in educational games from 9am to 3:30pm, free of charge. Rental equipment is available for all ages and reservations are not required.

A special “Bounty Hunt” climbing competition will also take place from 9am to 3:30pm. Visiting climbers and gym members will tackle the gym’s most difficult unclimbed routes, with prizes including a $1,000 cash purse for an ascent of the facility’s hardest crack – a unique challenge that replicates elite level outdoor climbing. Prizes are also offered for a variety of climbing challenges designed for all ability levels, so everyone can win.

A special sign planting ceremony will take place at 4pm, followed by a celebration until 7pm with DJ’d music, demonstrations, food and refreshments. Premier sponsors for the event are La Sportiva, Sterling Rope Co. and Metolius, with dozens of other generous businesses providing prizes and support.
