MAINE-BASED CLIMBING GYM WELCOMES FIRST HIRES
Scarborough’s First Indoor Climbing Gym is pleased to announce that Vince Schaefer and Alison Krayer have joined the management team.
SCARBOROUGH, Maine – June 24, 2015 – Salt Pump Climbing Co., a Maine-based climbing and fitness facility scheduled to open this summer on Haigis Parkway in Scarborough, recently welcomed Vince Schaefer and Alison Krayer as the gym’s first major hires.
Vince Schaefer accepted the position of Program Director. Growing up in the wilds of Alaska, Vince made his way east pursuing careers in the media and climbing worlds. After a few years leading an outdoor production company in Boston, he relocated last month to the Portland area to begin his career with Salt Pump. With a strong passion for teaching and leadership, Vince has focused his life’s efforts towards being a mentor in the community and a responsible patron of the many natural resources he holds dear.
Alison Krayer started recently as Salt Pump’s Assistant Manager. An avid climber, Alison worked for a major climbing gym in Maryland for several years, fulfilling many functions as assistant director including managing staff, front desk and retail, outdoor guiding, indoor instruction of all levels and route setting. Alison relocated to the Portland area after accepting this position and is excited to share her passion for climbing both indoors and outdoors with the New England community.
“Our brand starts with our people. Alison and Vince are perfect additions to our team, bringing the right combination of competence, creativity and zeal that we were looking for. We are very glad to have Alison and Vince”, said Taki Miyamoto, Salt Pump’s General Manager.
Salt Pump Climbing Co.’s mission is to be the leading community resource for climbing, mountain adventure, and active living in Southern Maine. Follow construction progress at the gym’s Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/saltpump or at its website https://www.saltpumpclimbing.com/.
