Partners & Stewardship
At Salt Pump Scarborough, we are committed to positively impacting the communities we serve, whether that's through volunteering staff time or creating joint programs with other organizations. We don't want to just be "that climbing gym down in Scarborough". We want to enrich the experience of all people that come in contact with Salt Pump and the community we represent. Check out how we are positively impacting our communities through the Partners below.
Non-Profit Partners
Kismet Rock Foundation
Kismet Rock Foundation identifies at-risk youth and exposes them to the outdoors and rock climbing. Their multi-year program combines hard skills like rope work and building anchors with soft skills like problem-solving and team collaboration.
Rippleeffect
Rippleffect's programs help kids get outside through their camps and outdoor classrooms, ultimately promoting healthy communities and living sustainably.
Maine Adaptive Sports & Recreation
This amazing non-profit organization provides recreation experiences to thousands of children and adults with disabilities. We host adaptive climbing seminars facilitated by Maine Adaptive for individuals to break through these perceived limitations.
Maine Audubon
The oldest non-profit in Maine, Maine Audubon seeks to conserve our amazing state's wildlife and wild lands through education programs, conservation efforts, and public policy. Salt Pump is proud to make an annual donation to this committed organization.
Scarborough Land Trust
Scarborough Land Trust conserves land for people, for wildlife – forever. With community support, they have conserved over 1,600 acres to date, including a 434-acre landmark farm in western Scarborough, lands along the renowned Scarborough Marsh, and the land and viewshed of the Winslow Homer Studio on Prouts Neck.
Corporate Partners
Portland Pie Company
Offering our members 10% off, Portland Pie Co. serves up unique pizzas, calzones, and pastas.
The Flatbread Company
This waterfront staple offers our members 10% off their wood-fired pies of deliciousness.
Mark Richey Woodworking
One of our managing partners, Mark Richey, has adorned the gym with custom shelving and woodcut signs. His woodworking firm is world-renowned, decking out places like Harvard and the Museum of Fine Art in Boston.
Sterling Rope
Our good friends at Sterling are headquartered right down the street in Biddeford. Makers of world-class ropes and equipment for climbing or rope-access professionals.
New England Resoul
Resoul gives your old climbing shoes new life. Members can drop-off and pick-up their like-new shoes here at Salt Pump!
